About
Trinity Lutheran is an open and affirming Christian Community, whose mission is to grow in faith and relationship to God and one another - through Word, Sacrament, and Service.
We are a community of believers rooted, currently lay-led, in the heart of Whitehorse, Yukon, and deeply committed to the teachings of Jesus. In faithfulness to Christ and the command to love God and our neighbours as ourselves, we open wide the doors of our hearts, welcoming all who seek the boundless love of God.
We recognize the divine in each person, embracing every sexual orientation, gender identity, age, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic condition, refugee and immigrant, physical and mental ability, and household composition. We honour, knowing that in Christ, there is room for all along the way.
We believe that God is present in every step of the journey, and we invite you to participate fully in the life, ministry, fellowship, worship, leadership, and blessings of our community.
Whoever you are, wherever you are on life’s journey, as God’s beloved, you are worthy and welcome!
Our Statement of Faith
written by TLC Youth, 2019
God is always there, God is creator of everything. Jesus is God’s son, an example for us all, proclaiming God’s message of peace on earth.
We are Jesus’ church, celebrating God’s presence, living with respect in creation, loving and serving others, seeking justice and resisting evil.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, God’s living breath. The spirit is God’s action on earth and calls us to be active.
We believe in the unity of all faiths, that we are all unified as friends, in a world where all things end well.
